Frequently asked questions
Before contacting us, you may find the answers to your questions below as these are our most common questions, but if you can’t find the answer please do get in touch and we will be sure to assist you as quickly as possible.
It is my first time skiing. What do I need to do?
Contact us to have an informal discussion about what you would like to experience. We will then make some recommendations, with assessments that will guide you through that first experience.
I have my own sitski and would like somebody to assist me.
We have qualified instructors that will not only support you whilst on the slopes but will also use their expertise and experiences to help improve your skiing.
I am visually impaired and would like support whilst on the mountain.
Our ski school instructors are all qualified to help visually impaired skiers. They also know Saas-Fee exceptionally well and will ensure that you ski in the areas that are best for you to learn on and for your ability.
I do not know which is the best equipment to use when skiing with you.
We carry out a detailed assessment on your disability and what you would like to achieve longer term. There is no hard rule as to whether you use a bi-ski or a mono. A lot depends on your own disability and the level of independence that you would like to have if it is possible. Our team will always make sure that you are comfortable in our assessed programme we put forward before we embark on any skiing.
Do you also offer lessons for people with mental disabilities?
Yes we do, please get in touch so that we can discuss your needs more specifically.
I do not know what size sitski I would need.
Our team will cover this in our assessment. We make sure that every skier is comfortable and in the right size sitski before you start skiing.
What happens if I need to use a toilet whilst on the mountain?
All lift stations except one have disabled facilities. The instructor will always ensure you are in an accessible place should you need to use a toilet. We will also have accessible wheelchairs at each of the lift stations should they be needed either for toilet break or simply to take a break from the sitski.
How would I get from my accommodation to the meeting point?
Our team will coordinate all of the logistics ahead of you lesson. This could be coordinating with your accommodation provider, village transport, or wheelchair support depending on your location.
I would like to become a member of the Para-Alpine Skiing Association.
Please contact our team and we will gladly walk you through the process for joining the association.
We’re here to assist you with ski equipment, support you on the mountain and find the most appropriate accessible accommodation for all types of disability.
